Since 1999 the non-profit Vaca Jazz Society has existed to provide and promote quality jazz music in our community.  This volunteer effort is a labor of love for many local musicians and business owners who give of their time and resources to bring quality, family-friendly jazz entertainment to Solano County residents.

Our biggest and best known undertaking is the annual Vacaville Jazz Festival, which has been held on the third weekend of September since established in 1999. VJS has now expanded citywide with the festival at two main venue locations at the downtown town square and the new Nut Tree Family Park & Village on the third weekend during the month of September.  Last year's Festival was a great success, with shows all weekend long at 6 different venues.  Many local businesses and our major sponsor, Comcast, were instrumental in providing financial resources to help offset some of the costs of this event.  We are very grateful to all who contributed to help us put on a successful 2008 festival.

The 2009 Jazz Festival will be our greatest undertaking yet and will take place on September 18th, 19th, and 20th at both Historic Downtown and Nut Tree locations. Beginning with the "Crossroads Jazz Camps" at three downtown locations: Town Square Plaza, Vacaville Public Library-Town Square, and and Chamber of Commerce. Then three venues at Nut Tree Village, Nut Tree Theme Park, and Borders location.  For more complete information, click the link on the Events page..
